MAKEEN

Makeen is a Berlin-based composer, producer, and DJ whose work sits at the intersection of classical training and dancefloor instinct.

Classically trained for over seven years, with two decades of composition behind him, he pours that foundation into live modular sets. His productions have played at techno clubs including Berghain in Berlin, Public Works in New York, and Smart Bar in Chicago.

He came up through Chicago's techno scene from 2009, co-organizing the collectives Research & Development and Spent. He's now in Berlin and part of Substrate. His releases on iideo, Format and PPRZ run hypnotic, experimental and precise, always tuned to how a track moves a room.
